About London

London is the largest southwestern Ontario municipality, is the 5th largest city in Ontario and the 16th largest in Canada. It’s also the largest city in North America to not have an urban freeway serving the metro area. The economy is largely dominated by the locomotive, military vehicle production, insurance, and information technology industries. Canada Post has a large presence, and the breweries of Labatts and Carling were founded in London. Other major area employers include the Ford Motor Company (2,800 employees), London Life (2,739 employees), and the largest public employer in the area, the London Health Sciences Centre (7,895 employees).
